How To Keep Your Pet Safe During 4th Of July!!!!

The 4th of July is right around the corner and it may be all sunshine and fireworks for many, but for others not so much.

The loud noise of fireworks often scare our pets, causing extreme anxiety. I know my dog, Pablo, gets extremely anxious with loud noises, and the 4th of July is just one of the days where I have to be very careful with him.

I read an article that offers some advice on how to keep your pets safe during the 4th of July, so let's jump in.

  1. Making sure your pet has current identification is a must! If your pet is microchipped, make sure your phone number and address are up to date and same goes for your pets dog tags.
  2. Make sure your pet is getting enough exercise in the days leading up to the holiday as exercise helps reduce anxiety.
  3. Create a safe space for your pet. Make sure that your pets space is escape proof and if you can turn on the TV or soft music, do it. Closing the blinds in order to avoid the light flashes is a plus!
  4. Keep your pet at home. Although you might want to take your pet to celebrate with your loved ones, this might cause more stress for your pet.

I'll be keeping my son safe by following the tips above!
