The Texas Talent Musicians Association (TTMA), organizers of the “Biggest Night in Tejano Music,” have officially announced the final performer for the 45th Annual Tejano Music Awards — Max Baca & Los Texmaniacs. The Grammy-winning conjunto powerhouse will take the stage for a heartfelt tribute to the late Leonardo “Flaco” Jiménez, celebrating the life and legacy of one of the most influential accordionists in music history.
“We’re thrilled to announce our final artist, Max Baca & Los Texmaniacs, who will deliver a heartfelt tribute performance celebrating the trailblazing legacy of conjunto music icon Leonardo ‘Flaco’ Jiménez,” said TTMA in a statement. “Flaco was a visionary who received the prestigious Tejano Music Awards Lifetime Achievement Award in 2011.”
Jiménez’s musical journey began at a young age under the guidance of his father, conjunto pioneer Santiago Jiménez Sr. Over a remarkable seven-decade career, Jiménez helped elevate conjunto and Tejano music to international recognition — earning five Grammy Awards, a Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award, and the National Heritage Fellowship from the National Endowment for the Arts. Jiménez’s passing on July 31, 2025, at the age of 86, marked the end of an era — but his music and influence continue to resonate deeply within the Tejano community.

For Max Baca, the tribute carries a personal connection. Recently inducted into the Texas Conjunto Music Hall of Fame last year as its youngest-ever member, Baca has long credited Flaco Jiménez as a mentor and guiding force. In a recent interview with San Antonio’s KENS 5, Baca shared, “Flaco once told me, ‘You don’t have to play a thousand licks and a thousand notes. Just play that one note, but feel that one note.’”
Formed in 1997, Los Texmaniacs have become torchbearers of the Tex-Mex sound — blending traditional conjunto rhythms with rock, blues, and Tejano influences. Their appearance will close out an all-star lineup at this year’s awards, joining previously announced performers Grupo Solido, Ricardo Castillon y La Diferenzia, Ram Herrera, Monica Saldivar, Lucky Joe, Da Krazy Pimpz, David Olivarez, The Homeboyz, Avizo, Johnny Hernandez, and El Plan
The 45th Annual Tejano Music Awards will take place on Friday, November 21, 2025, at the Texas Rodeo Saloon in Katy, Texas, marking the first time in years the iconic celebration moves from its longtime home in San Antonio, the “Tejano Music Capital of the World.”
The evening kicks off with a red carpet event from 5:00 to 6:30 p.m., followed by the awards ceremony at 7:00 p.m.. While tables sold out in under 72 hours, general admission tickets remain available.
Since its inception in 1980, the Tejano Music Awards, produced by TTMA, has honored the best in Tejano music while preserving its cultural roots and celebrating its ongoing evolution. This year’s milestone event promises a night of electrifying performances, emotional tributes, and unforgettable collaborations that bridge generations of Tejano fans.
