Harry Styles Threw Some Major Shade At Zayn On 'Saturday Night Live'

Harry Styles gave Zayn the Mariah Carey treatment during one of his Saturday Night Live skits.

Styles pulled double duty this weekend as first-time host and solo musical guest of the November 16 episode of SNL, during which the English musician used his comedic chops to take a playful dig at his former One Direction bandmate. As fans know, the remaining members of the five-piece — including Niall Horan, Louis Tomlinson, and Liam Payne — indefinitely called it quits in 2016, but the “Pillowtalk” crooner was the first to leave the band the year before to pursue a solo career.

Styles used this piece of juicy 1D history to pull an “I don’t know her” move during one of his monologues. "Now, I don't know if you've heard or not, but I'm not in a boy band anymore. I'm in a man band now,” the “Kiwi” musician quipped to a cheering audience. “I was in a band called One Direction. How crazy would it be if they were here tonight? Well, they're not here.”

“How crazy would be if they were, though? … I love those guys. They're my brothers: Niall, Louis, Liam,” Styles said, before trailing off, “and uh… Ringo! Yeah, that's it.” By Ringo, Styles was of course referring to Ringo Starr who, like Zayn, was also the first member to depart a major boy band (The Beatles).

Styles’ jab is perhaps the most harmless of the recent digs Zayn’s fellow bandmates have taken at him. Last month, Payne claimed Zayn never even said goodbye when he parted the group, whereas Tomlinson admitted he is still “pretty mad” about how he left as well.
