Award-winning Conjunto artist Cindy Ramos has unveiled her latest original single, “Perdoname,” a soulful progressive cumbia that encapsulates the raw emotions of love and longing. In an intimate reflection on the track’s origins, Ramos shared that the inspiration came from a Netflix series that profoundly resonated with her.

“This beautiful cumbia tells a love story that maybe some of us can relate to,” Ramos revealed. “A show I once viewed on Netflix made me realize how hard it must be to love and never be able to express it. As I bawled at the end of the series, I immediately threw myself in this beautiful work. I hope you all enjoy it as much as I did.”

The Netflix series that stirred this emotional response is the romantic drama One Day, based on the 2009 novel by David Nicholls and its 2011 film adaptation. The story follows the 14-year relationship between Emma Morley and Dexter Mayhew, who meet at a graduation ball at the University of Edinburgh, and the ups and downs they face throughout the years. The show received critical acclaim for its exploration of love, missed opportunities, and fate. In fact, during the week of February 12, 2025, One Day became the most-watched global series with an impressive 9.9 million views.

“Perdoname” was produced by Latin Grammy-winning producer Lorenzo “Papo” Banda, known for his ability to craft the perfect sound for artists in the Latin music world. With his expertise, Cindy’s heartfelt lyrics and the beautiful cumbia rhythms come together to create a track that touches listeners on a deeply emotional level.
