LAS VEGAS, NEVADA — The highly anticipated Vegas Tejano Takeover 2025 will pay a special tribute to the late Tejano music legend Jimmy Edward during the Gran Baile on Saturday, July 12, 2025, at the Westgate Las Vegas Resort and Casino. Organizers, INGENUITY, announced this week that the tribute will feature a performance by Avizo, joined by the iconic Jay Perez, in honor of the beloved singer.
Dubbed “La Voz,” Jay Perez will take the stage with Avizo to deliver a heartfelt performance in memory of Jimmy Edward, whose music left an indelible mark on the Tejano industry. Fans can expect an unforgettable night as the Gran Baile will feature performances by Gary Hobbs, Johnny Hernandez, the Official Emilio Navaira Tribute Band with his sons Emilio and Diego Navaira, Texas Latino, and a Grupo Rodeo 1993 throwback performance.
The Vegas Tejano Takeover, happening July 10-13, 2025, is the premier event for Tex-Mex and Conjunto music fans, drawing thousands to Las Vegas for four days of incredible music experiences. The event includes the Tejano America FanFest Expo, Gran Bailes, SqueezeBox Ultra Music Bash, and the Vegas Vibe Pool Party, showcasing some of the biggest names in Tejano music.
A Star-Studded Weekend of Tejano Music
The Vegas Tejano Takeover 2025 will kick off on Thursday, July 10, with the Vegas Vibe Pool Party featuring performances by Ricardo Castillon Y La Diferenzia, Ozomatli, and Conjunto Cats. On Friday, July 11, the Tejano America FanFest Expo will highlight acts like La Dezz featuring Joe Posada, Tortilla Factory featuring Jerry Lopez and the Santa Fe Fat City Horns, and Gilberto Perez y Sus Compadres. That evening’s Gran Baile will include a farewell tour performance by Elida Reyna Y Avante, joined by Mariachi Nuestras Raices de Jose A. Gonzalez, alongside Little Joe Y La Familia, La Fiebre, and Los Monarcas de Pete Y Mario Diaz.
On Saturday, July 12, before the Jimmy Edward Tribute, the Tejano America FanFest Expo will continue with a 45th anniversary celebration of Ram Herrera and The Outlaws, as well as performances by Adalberto Gallegos featuring Tejano 520 and Los D Boyz, with more artists to be announced.
The weekend concludes on Sunday, July 13, with the SqueezeBox Ultra Music Fest, featuring performances by David Lee Garza Y Los Musicales with Oscar G and Mark Ledesma, The Hometown Boys, Albert Zamora, and Lucky Joe.
