SAN ANTONIO, TX — The Guadalupe Cultural Arts Center and the Tejano Conjunto Festival announced today (May 6) that Conjunto legend Jaime DeAnda will be inducted into the 2025 Guadalupe Cultural Arts Center Conjunto Music Hall of Fame. The formal presentation will take place on Sunday, May 18, at Rosedale Park, just before DeAnda takes the stage at 9:00 p.m. as part of the 43rd annual Tejano Conjunto Festival.

“Congratulations, Jaime, on your remarkable achievements and the invaluable contributions you have made to our music and culture over the years! Your legacy continues to inspire us all,” the Guadalupe Cultural Arts Center said in an official statement.

With a career spanning more than four decades, Jaime DeAnda has become one of the most recognizable and beloved figures in Conjunto and Tejano music. Known for his dynamic stage presence, intricate accordion skills, and signature flair, DeAnda has redefined what it means to be an accordionist in Latin music. From his high-energy performances with the groundbreaking band Los Chamacos to his current solo endeavors, his influence continues to shape the genre and captivate audiences of all ages.

In 2018, DeAnda made headlines with a surprise departure from Los Chamacos, the band he co-founded and helped bring to national prominence. Despite facing a major health crisis in December 2021, he returned stronger than ever, celebrating the release of his debut solo album Volando Solo in 2024—a nod to his journey as a solo artist.

Jaime’s wife and manager, Darlene DeAnda, shared heartfelt words in light of the honor:

“My husband, Jaime DeAnda, is far more than a musician, he is a true artist whose spirit resonates in every note he plays. His accordion doesn’t just produce sound, it tells stories, sings with a depth born of his passion, and echoes the commitment he’s poured into his craft. His voice carries the depth of a lifetime spent perfecting his craft and every performance is a testament to his heart and soul. Being inducted into the Cultural Arts Conjunto Hall of Fame is a beautiful recognition of the immense talent, dedication, and joy he shares with the world. I could not be prouder of the extraordinary legacy he is creating, not only as an artist but as a man whose music has touched countless lives. Jaime, you are a living inspiration, and this honor is a reflection of everything you’ve poured into your art. You truly deserve this recognition and so much more.”

Jaime DeAnda was drawn to the accordion at an early age, influenced by the traditional sounds of Conjunto pioneers. He rose to fame in the 1980s as the frontman and accordionist of Los Chamacos, blending traditional Conjunto rhythms with modern Tejano influences. Known for his charisma, showmanship, and technical mastery, DeAnda became a staple in the genre and a frequent headliner at major festivals across the country. His passion for the music and deep connection to his roots have made him a cultural ambassador for Tejano and Conjunto music. As he continues his solo journey, DeAnda remains a vital force in keeping the tradition alive for new generations.
