Tejano Conjunto Festival en San Antonio Returns for 43rd Year

SAN ANTONIO, TX — The Guadalupe Cultural Arts Center proudly announces the 43rd Annual Tejano Conjunto Festival en San Antonio, set to take place May 15–18, 2025, with an exciting weekend of live music, cultural exhibitions, and community events that celebrate the rich heritage of conjunto music.

Kicking off with a free Seniors Dance on Thursday, May 15 at 10 a.m. at Progreso Hall (1306 Guadalupe St.), the festival welcomes older generations to enjoy a morning of live music from Eddie “Lalo” Torres and Los Conjunto Kings de Flavio Longoria, honoring the longtime supporters of this cherished genre.

That evening at 7 p.m., the celebration continues at the Latino Bookstore (1300 Guadalupe St.) with a new event titled Archiving & Documenting Our Cultura. This free exhibition features rare memorabilia from renowned archivist Ramón Hernández, as well as vibrant photography from Lupito Acuña and Mariaelena Villarreal, who also serves as the Festival Coordinator. A panel discussion and reception will follow, with live music from Aaron Salinas and Joey Guerrero.

The main event takes place May 16–18 at Rosedale Park (303 Dartmouth St.), bringing together more than 20 performers in a showcase of Texas’s diverse conjunto styles. Each night promises a blend of legendary acts and fresh talent:

Festival Coordinator Mariaelena Villarreal emphasized the importance of the event, stating: “The Tejano Conjunto Festival has long been a cornerstone of our musical heritage. With this year’s incredible lineup, we celebrate the rich legacy of conjunto music while also embracing its future.”

Recognized as the first and longest-running conjunto festival in the United States, the Tejano Conjunto Festival draws over 9,000 fans annually from Texas and beyond, including international visitors from Mexico, Europe, and Asia. Over the past four decades, it has become a blueprint for similar festivals and a vital platform for conjunto preservation and innovation.
