‘Dreaming of You’ Celebrates 30 Years with Remastered Vinyl Release

In an exciting announcement during a SiriusXM Townhall interviewSuzette Quintanilla revealed that the landmark posthumous album from SelenaDreaming of You, will receive a special 30th-anniversary remastered and remixed vinyl release in July 2025. This commemorative edition honors the legacy of the beloved Latin music icon and her groundbreaking crossover into the mainstream music scene.

A Personal Journey Through Grief and Celebration

Suzette Quintanilla shared the emotional journey behind revisiting the album:

“When Dreaming of You came out, I didn’t care. I was too much lost in my grief. I didn’t know day or night. I didn’t care about anything. And then I learned to love it and to understand what it represents. It hurt for a very long time to be able to listen to this album. But as time went by, I understood. I embraced that this is what Sister left behind.”

She emphasized the significance of this release, noting the advancements in technology that have allowed for a cleaner, more current sound:

“It’s so crisp and so clean. And it’s crazy because when I was comparing the original, I would listen to the remastered version of it and then I would turn it off and then I would kick in the original version. Oh my God, so night and day.”

A Collector’s Dream: Multiple Formats and Designs

The 30th-anniversary edition of Dreaming of You will be available in various formats to cater to fans and collectors alike:

  • Vinyl: Four different vinyl editions, including an original design and three unique artworks.

  • Cassette: A special cassette release, adding a nostalgic touch for longtime fans.

Suzette expressed her dedication to the project:

“I put my heart and soul into the artwork. I worked extremely hard… Worked really, really hard to honor this last album that Sister did and left us. It’s super special to me.”

Celebrating Selena’s Enduring Legacy

Originally released in July 1995, Dreaming of You was a monumental success, debuting at number one on the Billboard 200 chart—making Selena the first predominantly Spanish-language artist to achieve this feat. The album blended English and Spanish tracks, showcasing Selena’s versatility and her vision of crossing over into the mainstream market.

To commemorate this milestone, SiriusXM will air the special Townhall interview starting June 5th, presented by Águila and Hits Uno. Additionally, a dedicated channel titled “Siempre Selena Radio” on Channel 79 will celebrate her timeless music and the artists she continues to inspire throughout the month.

Fans can look forward to experiencing hits like “Dreaming of You,” “I Could Fall In Love,” “Tú Sólo Tú,” and “Techno Cumbia” in a refreshed and remastered format, honoring the enduring impact of Selena’s music three decades later.
