Award-winning Tejano singer and actress Magali Delarosa is adding another title to her impressive resume: film producer. The Rio Grande Valley native recently shared with Tejano Nation Radio host Romeo that she’s currently developing her own film project—a bold step that reflects her creative ambition and passion for storytelling.
“I am developing my own film project right now,” Delarosa revealed. “So the idea has already been written out. I’m stepping into the role of producer for the film. I don’t have a title yet, but it is in development and it is going to be really great.” She emphasized her desire to shoot the film locally and cast actors she’s previously worked with, noting that the story is “very rich in culture” and will also feature her own music.
Delarosa’s move behind the camera marks a new chapter in a career that’s been steadily expanding beyond music. Though this is her first time taking on the producer role, she’s no stranger to film, having already made a name for herself in projects like Ofreda: Altar of the Dead, Black Clown 3, and Halloween Night. She’s also set to appear in the psychological thriller Manic, as well as films like Find Me, John Bear: Journey to the Underworld, and American Patriot: The First Defender 1918, where she stars opposite her husband as a World War I nurse.

Despite her growing presence in film, Delarosa remains dedicated to her Tejano roots. She recently released her latest EP, Flor Y Diamanté, continuing to connect with fans through her powerful voice and heartfelt lyrics. The project’s title is a reflection of both her personal journey and the experiences of women in the music industry.
“I just wanted something that was beautiful and feminine to represent not just me, but all the women trying to be in this business and do a great job,” she explained. “I think the diamond part of it represents that we’re all multifaceted and can do so many things.”
With her music career in full swing and her new film project in development, Magali Delarosa is proving she’s not just a voice to be heard but a creative force to be seen—both on screen and behind the camera. Tejano fans have plenty to look forward to as she continues to shine in both worlds.
