CORPUS CHRISTI, TX — Beloved Tejano TV host and veteran broadcaster Barbi Leo is celebrating a major milestone — her 20th anniversary as co-host of Domingo Live, the long-running Sunday morning Tejano music showcase airing weekly on KIII-TV News3 in Corpus Christi.
Leo has co-anchored the show since 2005 alongside Tejano ROOTS Hall of Fame broadcaster Rudy Treviño, continuing the rich legacy of a program that has been a staple of South Texas culture since its debut in 1964 with late television pioneer Domingo Peña.
In a heartfelt social media message, Leo shared her gratitude for the community that’s supported her over the past two decades:
“20 Years Hosting Domingo Live! It’s been an honor and a privilege being part of the South Texas tradition! THANK YOU SO MUCH for all your love and support South Texas! I’m beyond grateful, thankful and blessed to be a part of your Sunday.”
She added, “In God’s Grace each day is a gift and every year a miracle. I have a lot to be thankful for and your love and support all these years is definitely on the top of my list. THANK YOU! THANK YOU! THANK YOU! South Texas, Family and Friends!”
Barbi Leo’s broadcasting career began in 1998 when she joined KSAB Tejano 99.9 FM as a morning show co-host shortly after graduating college. For more than two decades, she helped lead the longest-running Tejano morning show in the Corpus Christi market, retiring from radio in 2019.
After stepping away from radio, Leo seamlessly transitioned into television news, becoming a morning anchor for KIII-TV News3, where she continues to serve the community with energy, professionalism, and a deep passion for South Texas culture.
Over the years, Leo has earned recognition for her dedication to Tejano music and her work in the community. In 2017, she was honored at the sixth annual La Música del Sur de Tejas (The Music of South Texas) ceremony for her contributions to the industry.
