Rising Latin music sensation Gabriella Martinez recently shared a heartwarming and candid video with fans as she unboxed her 2024 Tejano Music Awards, reflecting on what she calls “a surreal and incredible” year in her blossoming career.

The Florida-born, Houston-based singer took home two major honors at the 44th annual Tejano Music Awards last November — Best New Female Artist and Video of the Year — marking a major milestone in her journey through the Tejano music world. In the video posted to her social media, Gabriella held her newly arrived trophies and expressed heartfelt gratitude to the Tejano community and her growing fanbase.

“Honestly, never in my life thought that I would be holding one of these,” she shared. “It feels surreal. It’s incredible. Thank you, guys, for getting me here. I couldn’t do any of this without all the support y’all have given me — my fans, my team, and everyone I met along the way.”

Gabriella’s breakout EP Siempre Gabriella, released in 2023, helped catapult her into the spotlight, earning her not only Tejano accolades but also a Latin Grammy nomination for Best Tejano Album at the 25th Annual Latin Grammy Awards in Miami last September.

The singer, known for her emotional depth and signature fusion of traditional Tejano and modern influences, continues to showcase her artistic growth with her latest EPYo No Te Perdí. The new project has been praised for its vulnerability and maturity, solidifying Gabriella’s place as one of the most exciting new voices in the genre.

In the unboxing video, Gabriella also gave a special shout-out to Trill Art, the creative mind behind her award-winning visuals.

“Trill Art, shout out to you. You always capture the vision and make me look hot — which isn’t that hard to do,” she laughed. “But seriously, your work always brings the music to life.”

Gabriella’s journey from viral social media covers of Selena classics to an award-winning artist is nothing short of inspiring. She moved to Texas at 19 to chase her musical dreams and has quickly become a beloved figure in Tejano music. In addition to her music achievements, fans may recognize her from recent appearances on CBS game show Beat The Cage alongside her father and the Netflix competition series Squid Game: The Challenge.

Her heartfelt message during the unboxing also touched on cultural pride and personal growth.

“I never thought Spanish was an option for me. I didn’t grow up speaking it and I was scared to mess up or be disrespectful to the language,” Gabriella admitted. “But I dove in, and now — look what we’re accomplishing.”

With powerful vocals, a genuine connection to her roots, and a string of accomplishments already under her belt, Gabriella Martinez is more than a rising star — she’s becoming a leading voice in the new era of Tejano music. And if this past year is any indication, she’s only getting started.
