My heart feels for those who don't get to walk the line due to graduation ceremonies being cancelled. The coronavirus has posed extreme challenges in everyone's life, but that wasn't going to stop some eager graduates in Tokyo.
The Business Breakthrough University in Tokyo came up with a brilliant (but also a little scary) idea of having avatar robots walk the line for the graduating class. Dressed in cap and gowns, these robots were being remotely controlled by students from their home.
The robots, named "Newme" were developed by Ana Holdings and were fully equipped, even with the face of the graduating students displayed via tablets.
“I think this is truly a novel experience to receive a certificate in a public area while I am in a private space,”
Said one of the students as his robotic friend received his masters degree diploma.
