Key Tips To Living A Healthier Lifestyle

Since I moved to Tucson, I have been on a fitness journey that has had its ups and downs. I have many breaks in between but nonetheless I keep it pushing.

I love going to the gym, exercising and all off the above but I just can't seem to be consistent when it comes to eating healthy.

I love chips, snacks, processed foods...... in other words everything that's bad for you. BUT, I came across this article where a dietician reveals HER six daily tips that help you live a healthier lifestyle and I like what I learned.

Just thought I'd share Dietician Leanne Ward's tips with you in case you wanted to join this journey with me!

  1. Don't eat when bored, stressed or sad! This I AM GUILTY OF. I love to eat and snack and it gets worse when I'm feeling a little blue. Instead, it is recommended we do something else that will take up our time. Read a book, go for a walk, call a friend, etc. Being strong enough to resist the urge is a workout in itself but I am determined to break this bad habit.
  2. Reduce processed food to twice a week only! I like this tip. Like I said before, I love chips and I am guilty of eating a lot of processed foods. Instead of cutting them out of my life entirely, I am willing to compromise. Maybe use it as an incentive! If you can get through the week without processed foods then it's only right to award yourself on the weekend!
  3. Drink water before and during meals! Leanne explains that drinking water before and during meals can help stop us from over-eating and of course staying hydrated!
