Since I moved to Tucson, I have been on a fitness journey that has had its ups and downs. I have many breaks in between but nonetheless I keep it pushing.
I love going to the gym, exercising and all off the above but I just can't seem to be consistent when it comes to eating healthy.
I love chips, snacks, processed foods...... in other words everything that's bad for you. BUT, I came across this article where a dietician reveals HER six daily tips that help you live a healthier lifestyle and I like what I learned.
Just thought I'd share Dietician Leanne Ward's tips with you in case you wanted to join this journey with me!
- Don't eat when bored, stressed or sad! This I AM GUILTY OF. I love to eat and snack and it gets worse when I'm feeling a little blue. Instead, it is recommended we do something else that will take up our time. Read a book, go for a walk, call a friend, etc. Being strong enough to resist the urge is a workout in itself but I am determined to break this bad habit.
- Reduce processed food to twice a week only! I like this tip. Like I said before, I love chips and I am guilty of eating a lot of processed foods. Instead of cutting them out of my life entirely, I am willing to compromise. Maybe use it as an incentive! If you can get through the week without processed foods then it's only right to award yourself on the weekend!
- Drink water before and during meals! Leanne explains that drinking water before and during meals can help stop us from over-eating and of course staying hydrated!
