Just when things were looking up, Tumamoc Hill faces another possible closure.
Tumamoc Hill reopened in May with the requirement that all visitors must wear a face mask in an effort to reduce the spread of COVID-19.
According to the University of Arizona officials about 700 to 1,000 people walk the hill everyday with approximately 30-40% of visitors wearing face masks.
"As a result, starting Friday, the university will begin a two-week period to determine if the Hill can remain open. A whiteboard at the base of the hill will indicate the percentage of visitors wear face coverings each day."
"If compliance with the face covering policy is not met by the end of the two-week period, the university will be forced to again close Tumamoc Hill to the public," UArizona officials said.
If you visit Tumamoc Hill please, wear your mask!
