A survey conducted by the Institute for Scientific Information on Coffee concluded that "more than a quarter of adults experience depression and increased feelings of sadness as it gets closer to winter."
It's a love/hate relationship for me. I am always so excited to experience the cold weather, but the short days definitely take a toll after a while. Darkness at 5pm just ain't it!
"One in five adults included in the consumer survey said they drank coffee to improve their mood, with 29 percent reporting they drank coffee during this time to feel more energized and 21 percent saying coffee helped with concentration."
The report suggests that 75 mg of caffeine every four hours can improve your mood over the day. In addition, the study mentions coffee aroma and how it can enhance working memory and stimulate alertness.
