Tejano icon Bobby Pulido added another major milestone to his legendary career, winning Best Tejano Album at the 26th Annual Latin GRAMMY Awards in Las Vegas, Nevada, on Thursday afternoon. The award was presented during the Latin GRAMMY Premiere ceremony at the Mandalay Bay South Convention Center and streamed live on the Latin Recording Academy’s digital platforms.
Pulido earned the honor for his ambitious and heartfelt live collaboration project, Bobby Pulido & Friends: Una Tuya y una Mía (Vol. 1 / En Vivo), a 30-song celebration of his roots, influences, and enduring impact on the Tejano genre. Produced by Pulido alongside José Luis Cornejo, the album showcases electric duet performances with an impressive lineup of Tejano legends and rising stars, blending nostalgia with fresh creative energy.
This marks Pulido’s second win and third career nomination in the Best Tejano Album category. He previously won at the 23rd Latin GRAMMY Awards for his album Para Que Baile Mi Pueblo.
A Powerful, Emotional Acceptance Speech
In a heartfelt moment that resonated throughout the Tejano community, Pulido used his acceptance speech to reflect on his 30-year career and announce his retirement from music.
“First of all, I want to thank God for giving me 30 years of career, my dad Roberto Pulido, my mentor Abelardo Rivera, teacher master, thank you very much José Luis Cornejo, thank you very much Norma Duran, Ale Ballesteros, thank you very much to everyone who was there, Fono too, greetings to Fono, Iracema, Alfredo Delgadillo. I want to accept this award because I am retiring from music, but I want to dedicate it to all the young people of the Rio Grande Valley because we have a lot of talent. I know that our genre is in good hands. All Tejano’s there — it’s okay to dream, it’s okay to dream, thank you.”
Pulido’s message emphasized gratitude, legacy, and hope for the next generation, reinforcing his belief that Tejano music’s future is bright.

The 26th Latin GRAMMY Awards will continue Thursday evening, November 13, with the star-studded main ceremony taking place at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas. The broadcast airs on TelevisaUnivision at 8 p.m. ET/PT (7 p.m. CT), preceded by a one-hour pre-show.
