Elida Reyna Y Avante will take the stage one final time tonight as the Tejano superstars close out their Farewell Tour with a Grand Finale concert at the historic Majestic Theatre in San Antonio, Texas. The two-time Latin Grammy Award–winning group promises an unforgettable sendoff with a star-studded lineup of special guests including Elsa Garcia, Michael Salgado, Jesse Turner of Siggno, Lucky Joe, and Mariachi Campanas De America, delivering a can’t-miss celebration worthy of EYA’s remarkable 34-year touring career.
For Elida Reyna, the most awarded artist in Tejano Music Awards history with 42 career wins, the night goes far beyond a farewell. It’s a homecoming.
“I chose San Antonio because it is here that I stepped into the spotlight back in 1994 at the Tejano Music Awards for the very first time, and it is here, at the iconic Majestic Theatre, that I will take the stage one last time,” Reyna shared.
She reflected on the journey that brought her to this moment: “This is proof that if you have tireless work ethic, the will to never give up and, most importantly, the ‘songs’ to carry a career, you can live out a childhood dream and perform on a stage you thought you could never reach. As I step away, I hope my songs continue to inspire and motivate future generations.”
Reyna says she and the band want to see their fans one last time: “As I close this chapter, we’d love to see our ‘EYA’ fans one last time Friday, December 12th, for an unforgettable night.”
An Emotional Farewell to Touring
In an interview with KENS 5 anchor Henry Ramos, Reyna became emotional explaining what she’ll miss most:
“I know I’m gonna miss it… one of the things I love most about performing is after the performance when I get to greet the fans. We’re laughing together, reminiscing… A lot of them are fans that have come through the years, and we catch up. I’m gonna miss that… oh my God, no, don’t cry… I’m gonna miss it.”

Tonight’s final show marks not just an ending, but the culmination of decades of connection between Reyna, Avante, and generations of fans.
State and City Honors for a Tejano Trailblazer
Before stepping onstage for the final time, Reyna will be honored with multiple recognitions, including:
- A Texas flag flown over the Texas Capitol in Austin (Office of the Governor, Texas Music Office)
- A City of San Antonio proclamation
- A flag flown over The Alamo from the Bexar County District Clerk
“I’m truly honored and humbled,” Elida said. “We will be having a small private ceremony on Friday before our final show. I want to thank Stephen Ray from the Texas Music Office and DeLuna Event Consulting for putting this together.”
What Comes Next for Elida Reyna
Though retiring from touring, Reyna says she’s entering a new chapter focused on faith, family, and entrepreneurship.
“I’m leaving it in God’s hands… I have so many things that I want to do,” she told KENS 5. “I have a couple of businesses… I want to be all in. Now I’ll be able to focus on these other dreams. One of my passions was starting a makeup line, which was so successful, but because I was so engulfed in music, you kind of lose track.”
She also confirmed she will continue recording—music with a new purpose.
“I will be recording music that is for God, for Jesus… If He’s given me this gift, how am I not going to use it for His honor?”
A Legacy Etched into Tejano History
Reyna hopes her legacy will live on through the songs that became part of fans’ everyday lives.
“I would hope they say that I left a beautiful legacy of songs… that I became a part of their family. That’s the most important thing—the catalog I’ve left behind.”
Her journey began with her electrifying 1994 debut performance of “Luna Llena” before a crowd of 50,000—a defining moment that launched a three-decade career filled with hits like “Duele,” “Te Sigo Amando,” and countless others.

Reyna shared a heartfelt message for those fans:
“I’m just so grateful for so many beautiful years—30 plus. You embraced me, you loved me, and I have loved you. My music will live on because of you. I’m excited to see you one last time… one last show, one last memory.”
