LAREDO, TX — Rising Latin music artist Hailyn Bella has released her latest single, “TexMex,” a genre-bending anthem produced by San Antonio’s acclaimed production duo The KlubJumpers, known for their work on over 80 Billboard-charting songs and multiple gold and platinum records. The new track arrived on Indigenous Peoples Day, a meaningful date for Bella, who proudly shared her Native American heritage and deep Mexican American roots on social media.

“I waited until today to release this track — because it’s Indigenous Peoples Day,” Bella posted. “My bloodline runs deep with Native American roots — from both of my grandmas. There was a time I wasn’t proud of being Mexican American. But now… I wear my roots with pride. Everything my ancestors went through — every struggle, every sacrifice — made me who I am today. So this one’s for them. For my people. For my culture. For everyone who’s ever felt ‘not enough.’”

In an exclusive interview with Tejano Nation Radio, the Laredo native described “TexMex” as an experimental fusion that defies genre boundaries — combining cumbia rhythms, country undertones, and bilingual lyrics into what she proudly calls her own invention.

“I wanted to do something different — something that represents who I am,” Bella explained. “It starts as a cumbia, then switches tempo into a country song with English lyrics, and goes back to cumbia again. I told the producers, ‘No, we’re going to do both!’ They thought I was crazy, but once it came together, it worked.”

Bella’s creative vision for “TexMex” goes beyond musical experimentation — it’s a heartfelt tribute to her hometown of Laredo and her adopted city of San Antonio, blending cultural pride with personal nostalgia. The lyrics are peppered with local imagery — from elotes and carne asadas to the Alamo and the Riverwalk — painting a vivid picture of border life and Tejano spirit.

“I grew up listening to country artists like Tim McGraw, Faith Hill, and the Dixie Chicks,” Bella said. “At the same time, I was listening to Tejano legends like Selena, Bobby Pulido, and Elida Reyna. ‘TexMex’ represents that mix — who I am and where I come from. Laredo is unique; it’s literally where Texas and Mexico meet.”

The singer also revealed that “TexMex” carries a deeper message of empowerment and liberation, inspired by her personal journey of self-acceptance and artistic freedom.

“The lyric canela sin cadenas, están listos para esta morena means I’m letting go of all the chains that held me back,” she shared. “I’m proud of who I am — a Mexican American woman who’s not afraid to blend sounds, languages, and cultures. That’s what being Tex-Mex is all about.”
