Less than 24 hours after its release, Jennifer Peña’s highly anticipated comeback album Superación has rocketed to the top of the iTunes Latin Albums chart, marking an emotional and victorious return for one of Tejano and Latin pop’s most celebrated voices. Released on Halloween, the 10-track project is proving to be more treat than trick for fans worldwide who have eagerly awaited Peña’s musical comeback.
During a heartfelt Instagram Live session, Peña shared her excitement and disbelief as she learned the news.
“I’m on cloud nine right now and there’s no clouds in the sky. Ain’t that ironic?” she laughed. “I can’t believe that we got to number one on iTunes. It’s such an amazing feeling. I waited so long for this album to come out. I just wanted you guys to have it, to listen, to enjoy it—and now I just want to know what y’all think.”
Fans flooded the comments with their favorite tracks from the new album, including “Órale,” “Energía,” and “Malo,” all of which blend Peña’s signature cumbia-pop flair with fresh, empowering themes that capture her growth as an artist and woman.
“Y’all are loving those cumbias, huh?” she smiled. “There’s no way I could have done this without you. I’m just so overwhelmed with gratitude.”
Superación marks Peña’s first studio album since 2007’s Dicen Que El Tiempo and represents a powerful chapter of renewal following a 16-year hiatus dedicated to family and personal growth. Since reigniting her career in 2023, Peña has made a steady and celebrated return to music with singles like the emotional ballad “Atada” and the fiery cumbia-pop anthem “Wakala.”
Known around the world as the “Princess of Tejano,” Jennifer Peña’s career spans decades of influence and inspiration. From her early years leading Jennifer y Los Jetz to timeless hits like “El Dolor de Tu Presencia,” “Abrázame y Bésame,” and “Hasta el Fin del Mundo,” Peña has sold more than 10 million records and earned both GRAMMY® and Latin GRAMMY® nominations.
With Superación, Peña not only reaffirms her musical legacy but also redefines what it means to evolve and rise stronger. The album’s themes of empowerment, love, and perseverance mirror the singer’s personal journey—and her fans are responding with overwhelming enthusiasm.
Peña is currently taking her music back to the stage with her El Camino Tour, continuing November 22 in Odessa, Texas, followed by stops in Midland, Austin, San Antonio, and Dallas. The tour will expand nationwide in 2026, including performances in Florida, Phoenix, and Los Angeles.
“I’m so glad to be sharing this moment with you all,” Peña told fans. “It’s because of you that I’m getting this moment—and I’ll never forget it.”
With Superación, Jennifer Peña proves that her reign as one of Tejano’s most beloved voices is far from over—she’s only just begun her next great chapter.
