The latest release from Rev Ray, “Cumbia de Calle,” is turning up the heat with an irresistible mix of cumbia, reggaetón, and urban Latin rhythms — a powerful reflection of life, love, music, and Mexican-American culture.
Proudly representing El Paso, Texas, Rev Ray — also known as “Hijo de la tierra del sol” — continues to carve his own lane in Latin music with this vibrant and heartfelt track. Produced by Tejano legend Shelly Lares, CEO of Shellshock Records 3, the single showcases Rev Ray’s signature blend of urban cumbias, reggae, R&B, and soul, wrapped in a contagious groove perfect for Latin, crossover, and rhythmic playlists.
“This one right here is for la raza, por la cultura, y desde el corazón del barrio,” Rev Ray shared on Instagram. “It’s that Chicano soul mixed with street cumbia fire — straight from El Chuco to San Anto, from my friends, familia, y toda mi gente brown around the world.”
“Cumbia de Calle” marks Rev Ray’s first single since his debut album, Ritmos y Raíces, which dropped in September 2024 and introduced his unique fusion of genres to a growing global audience.
The El Paso native describes the new track as “a celebration through the struggle, a reminder that even when life hits hard, we still dance, we still smile, and we still represent where we come from.”
Fans can expect more visuals soon, as Rev Ray teases upcoming videos that will showcase dance steps and street-style choreography inspired by his latest release.
With “Cumbia de Calle,” Rev Ray once again proves that his music isn’t just about sound — it’s about soul, community, and cultural pride.
